KISD employs 6200 teachers and support personnel to serve the Districtís 48 campuses. KISD serves as the areaís second largest employer. Students from Killeen, Harker Heights, Fort Hood, Nolanville and rural west Bell County attend classes at thirty two elementary schools (K-5), eleven middle schools (6-8), four high schools (9-12), four alternative centers, and the KISD Career Center
