Knox County Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the following position:

School Psychologist

Location: System-wide

Job Type: Certified - Special Education - School Psychologist

Job Summary: Provide assessment of students referred through the School Support Team process.

Qualifications:
• Masters degree in School Psychology (REQUIRED)
• Valid Tennessee Professional License with an endorsement in the area of school psychology
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and operate with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct
• Dependable transportation to various sites
• Alternatives to the above qualifications are subject to the discretion of the Superintendent

Responsibilities / Job Duties:
• Reports to the Supervisor of Psychological Services
• Complete comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations on students served through special education
• Provide professional development or inservice in the schools on procedures relating to the identification of disabled students
• Serve as a liaison with community agencies that provide services to students and their families
• Hold conferences with parents to review the psychologist’s assessment results prior to the IEP meeting
• Participate in IEP team meetings as needed to address assessment and evaluation issues
• Provide consultation to teachers, parents and principals to improve the educational environment for students
• Serve as a member of the CORE Team to provide support to students and faculty when dealing with issues related to suicide or sudden death
• Plan and implement professional development, inservice programs and workshops as required
• Follow all state and federal laws and regulations and Knox County Board of Education policies and procedures
• Establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the school environment
• Perform other duties as assigned
