“The primary function of the Timber Lake Public School system is to promote the well-rounded and continuous growth of its youth into effective citizens in the democratic society.” This is the stated philosophy of Timber Lake School. The school is located on south Main Street. The school district covers seven communities: Timber Lake, Trail City, Firesteel, Glencross, White Horse, Promise and Blackfoot.
There are 45 faculty and staff members including 15 teachers in the junior high and high school and 10 teachers in the elementary grades. There is a full time technology coordinator on staff. The pupil-to-teacher ratio is approximately 12 to 1, with the K-8 classes ranging in size from 15 to 29 pupils and the 7-12 classes ranging from 20 to 25 pupils.
The Timber Lake School offers a well rounded curriculum of math, science, social studies and language arts to its students, along with fine arts classes (chorus, band, art and music appreciation) and at the high school level, several electives. Overall, there are over 40 courses offered to high school students.
