We are a charter school in rural Santa Fe County, the oldest charter in New Mexico and one of the largest in the state. The school serves pre-k – 6th grade students with a charter that includes emphasis on the arts and technology. The instruction focuses on best practices for balanced literacy, Everyday Mathematics, hands-on science, integration of technology, art, music, physical education, enrichment and bilingual education. Special education and ELL services are integral services provided for eligible students.
The highly qualified staff meets regularly in Professional Learning Teams to discuss and refine their practice. Turquoise Trail was recently identified in the Stanford University CREDO study as 1 of 6 charter schools in New Mexico that outperforms other public schools. Upcoming within the next year is a $12,000,000 addition/renovation to our already beautiful building that will offer adequate space for all the programs we offer students that will include a remodeled performance area, gym, expanded library, art room and classroom space.
