Santa Fe Public Schools are currently accepting applications for the following position(s):

2017-2018 Instructional Coordinator for Math

Location: BF Young

General Function:
Oversees and supervises the Math program to provide support to schools. Provides leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of the district’s Math program in compliance of the District’s Strategic Plan. Will work on various projects at the discretions of the Executive Director of Curriculum and Professional Development.

Education/Training Experience:
Minimum:

Bachelor’s degree in teaching or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. NM PED Teaching License with endorsement in Math.

Preferred:
At least 5 years teaching experience in Math, at either elementary or secondary level. Educational work at various grade levels. Educational experience in teaching or training teachers in implementation of Math curriculum. Experience in working with school administrators in implementing Math curriculum in a school.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of New Mexico Common Core State Standards in Math across all grade levels.
Knowledge of differentiated instruction across grade levels for Math.
Demonstrated knowledge and experiences with research on pedagogy, educational content for Math, child and adolescent development, best practice in instructional delivery and curriculum practices.
Ability to make regular and spot decisions about programs within established parameters and understanding of District policy and procedures.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Must possess excellent skills in time management and organization and problem solving.
Position requires regular internal meetings at District and school levels.
Knowledge of standard office software, including word processing, presentation builders, spreadsheets and internet browsers.

Essential Job Functions:
All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, facility and computer security policies and procedures. Functions are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the District. Current essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
Assist schools with curriculum decisions including purchasing new programs as required by PED
Assist schools with organization of Math materials.
Provide training as requested by schools in NMCCSS in Math.
Assist schools with teaching strategies for Math.
Assist schools in differentiation of NMCCSS Math across grade levels as necessitated by student need.
Assist schools in developing Common Formative Assessments in Math.
Works with Literacy/RtI Coordinator in developing interventions for Math as necessitated by SAT.
Assist schools in developing End of Course exams.
Assist schools in student preparation in PARCC in Math.
Keep informed on the latest research, trends and developments in all areas of Math education.
Other duties as assigned.
