Santa Fe Public Schools are currently accepting applications for the following position(s):

Digital Communications Specialist

Location: Alta Vista

General Function:
Provide district wide support in all areas of SFPS communications

Education/Training Experience:

Minimum Required:

Associates degree
1-3 years’ experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified in a school setting
Computer literacy and proficiency with common PC applications, able to use photoshop, school messenger, video editing, google apples, etc.
Knowledge of principles, techniques and practices of public relations, journalism, marketing and website design
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi task
Must possess ability to develop and maintain positive relationships as well as influence and guide effectively
Must prioritize and manage confidential information appropriately

Recommended Knowledge/Skills/Abilities for Full Performance (Midpoint) :
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
3-5 years’ experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified in a school setting
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, using knowledge of proper grammar and language conventions, in English and Spanish
Excellent time management skills
Ability to problem-solve, adapt and follow through on commitments

Essential Job Functions:
Serve as the webmaster for all district related homepages and the liaison between School Messenger and SFPS
Write and edit newsletters, articles/op-eds, press releases, letters, and other related materials; design, produce and manage outreach material
Identify district communication needs and create mechanisms for internal and external communication and support as well as integrate digital communications, distribute information to the SFPS staff, the community, and broader public via multiple channels
Support community engagement events, suggest, schedule and implement new community based programs, partnerships and other engagement initiatives
Collect and compile information as requested and provide expertise as needed on special projects in support of the communications and chief of staff office
Performs other related duties as assigned
