We believe District No. 50 graduates should display comprehensive knowledge in communication, creative problem solving, critical thinking, technology, awareness of world diversity and an appreciation of life long learning. Public education is basic to the preservation of individual freedom and a free enterprise system. District goals promote the intellectual and personal growth of individual students. Individual development includes at least the basic skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and computation as well as knowledge in science, social studies, applied and fine arts and the use of technology. Achievement of these goals is a shared responsibility with home, school and community. The school is expected to create a learning environment that fosters a comprehensive development of intellectual skills and their application to the future world of continuing education and career. The quality of our graduates is determined ultimately by the ability to achieve success in personal life and a changing society.
