Here in the CUSD we are committed to educating children in mind, body and spirit.
Ask anyone in our community and they will tell you that Clovis Unified is a unique place. From our supportive parents and dedicated employees, to our wonderful students and hardworking Governing Board, we take pride in educating every child.
This year, our district continues to grow by more than 600 students annually. To accommodate our growing student population, an ambitious facilities project is underway. With the community's support of a $168 million facilities bond measure in March 2004, construction is moving forward on Clovis North High School and Granite Ridge Intermediate School, our fifth high school and intermediate school complex set to open in August 2007, along with Everett Bud Rank Elementary School, also opening in August 2007.
In addition to this new construction, modernization and renovation projects are underway at several of our older school facilities. Our commitment remains to provide a high quality learning environment for each of our students.
As we grow and change, Clovis Unified remains committed to three organizational aims: maximizing student achievement, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment where CHARACTER COUNTS!, and operating with increasing efficiency and effectiveness. Underlying our aims are core beliefs that spur decision-making in our district. We believe that:
*All children can learn and we can teach all children.
*Everyone is a reader and a teacher of reading.
*Our values must be more than words.
*Hard work promotes achievement.
*Itís people, not programs.
*United as Americans, we value our diversity.
*We hold ourselves accountable to achieve high standards.
*Success is an individual journey of continuous improvement.
*Education is a partnership between the school, the family and the community.
Come, visit our schools, and see what makes Clovis Unified a unique and special place to raise children. We are truly a school district that educates our students in "mind, body and spirit"!
